CO-FOUNDER & PARTNER
Brian founded, and has led, Cavanaugh Partners since late 2014. Cavanaugh Partners focuses exclusively on advising large Specialty-Emergency veterinary practice owners as they navigate the rapid evolution of the industry's ownership to privately-financed corporate consolidators.
His clients have consistently concluded successful transactions, all of which have set the new “high water mark” for valuation in the industry, resulting in over $350 million of total value secured for his clients.
His extensive experience advising on private market transactions in the veterinary services industry affords Brian a uniquely accurate understanding of industry valuations. Brian is also a partner at VetValue, an affiliate of dvmEvolution, which provides practice valuation services to veterinary practice owners.

CO-FOUNDER & PARTNER
Carson believes that independent veterinarians are under-served by the transition broker operating in the market today. This conviction led him to co-found dvmEvolution.
Carson began his career in Transaction Advisory as a member of the Healthcare Services Corporate Finance team at RBC Capital Market’s Investment Bank. In his 8 years with the group he advised on a variety of merger and financing transactions for independent and private equity-owned companies in the retail healthcare market, including companies in the dental, veterinary services and physician services industries.
Carson has helped veterinary practice owners he has represented secure the highest general veterinary practice valuations to date, creating over $425 million of wealth for such practice owners over the past 5 years.
Carson is also a partner at VetValue, an affiliate of dvmEvolution, which provides practice valuation services to veterinary practice owners.
Carson enjoys playing bass guitar, skiing, fishing, as well as other outdoor pursuits. Carson received his B.A. from Amherst College (Magna Cum Laude), and MBA (with distinction) from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.
“They helped me find a wonderful buyer that truly understood the unique value of what I had built, enough to pay me many times the value I had been about to accept. It was an eye-opening process.
The professionalism, the expertise about the market and the buyers, the attention to every detail, the dedication to getting the right deal for me and my practice, the sage advice and support along the way – they truly are the A-Team.”
“dvmEvolution helped us successfully transition our practice to support its continued growth. It was a lot of work, but it went smoothly. I can’t imagine how much more work and stress it would have been had we not had dvmEvolution’s tireless support.”
“We received multiple offers for our practice from corporate buyers prior to engaging Brian’s services. Not only did Brian secure for our practice a far higher valuation than the highest of those previous offers, but he deftly guided us through an unfamiliar process and shouldered a lot of the work, which is significant in any practice sale.
I cannot recommend him strongly enough to any practice owner considering a strategic transition.”
"Carson was a core member of the team that advised CAPNA on our sale to VCA.
Carson was a resource and advocate for us at every step of the sales process – from sales process conception to close, crafting our marketing materials and financial model, coordinating buyer access and organizing the due diligence process.
A hands-on advisor, Carson retained a firm grip on the details while keeping the larger process and bigger picture in mind. With the help of Carson and his team, we achieved a sales outcome that was beyond even our most optimistic expectations when we began the sale process."
